02-25-2019 SAM Senior Advisory Board Minutes February 25, 2019 Present: Curt Dahl, Al Barkheim, Jeannette Meyer, Julie Jensen, Darlene Kenning City Staff. September Jacobsen, John McRaith Absent: , Kay Yoch, Mike Becker, L The meeting was called to order at 10:02 a.m. by Vice-Chairman Curt Dahl. IL Secretary's Report: The January minutes were reviewed and approved on a motion made by Jeannette and seconded by Darlene. III. Treasurer's Report: September reported that January card sales amounted to $82 while button crafts brought in $10. Dishclothes, magnets, and a miscellaneous donation added $21 to the total. Jeannette made a motion to accept the treasury report with a second from Darlene. The motion was approved. IV. Old Business A. Tours- Julie reported that the trip to the Paramount Theater in St. Cloud to see a tribute entitled "Remembering Bobby Vee"went fine even though the weather was not very cooperative. The February 5th tour to the Ames Center in Burnsville for another rendition of"Church Basement Ladies"was one short of a sellout but encountered very bad weather. The bus got back to Hutchinson two hours late. Upcoming events include "Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical" at the Old Log Theater which currently has 26 registered, the Hudson House in Hudson, Wisconsin which has 33 registered and "Mama Mia" at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater. B. Update on Programs- September reported that they will try to run all the March activities but that they will be using different rooms. The board took a tour of the various rooms associated with the Senior Center to survey the repairs taking place after the water pipe break. It may be another month before everything has been repaired and all the rooms are usable again. We will be hosting mini golf again during spring break on March 15 from 1-4p and March 16 from 12-3p. V. Business A. New Board Member- With the departure of Judy Simons due to relocation, the board has a vacancy at the current time. September has someone in mind and hopes to get a person in place soon. B. Concert- September decided to go with a familiar group for our spring concert. The concert is scheduled for May 4th and it will be produced by A Hard Day's Night which put on a concert in 2018 at the Center. C. Board Officers- Mike Becker has agreed to remain as treasurer, John McRaith as secretary, and Curt Dahl as vice chair. The chairperson position remains open. D. Other- The monthly drawing for Fellowship Dinner tickets went to Walter Froemming. VI. Adjournment: Jeannette made a motion to adjourn at 11:20 am with a second from Al. The motion passed. The Senior Advisory Board's next regularly scheduled business meeting will be held on Monday, March 25, at 10:00am. John McRaith, Secretary
