10-09-2017 POLMHutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday October 9, 2017 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Jo Piehl, Commissioner Curtis Hughes, and
Lieutenant Tom Gifferson
Call the Meeting to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Brandel at 5:00 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Todd Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. A motion was made by Commissioner
Hughes to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Commission Piehl. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Todd Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the September meeting. Motion was
made by Commissioner Piehl, seconded by Commissioner Hughes to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Lieutenant Tom Gifferson informed the Police Commission the hiring process for Part-time Hospital Security Officer
and Part-time Communication Specialist was processing without issue.
Lieutenant Tom Gifferson informed the Police Commission the hiring process for Full-time Police Officer was
processing without issue.
Lieutenant Tom Gifferson informed the Police Commission the Part-time Hospital Security Officers Blaise Stanley and
Matt Pysick where progressing without issue. Officer Blaise Stanley had successfully completed the field training and
Officer Pysick was working out well during his probationary period.
Union Update:
There were no additional updates at this time

Adjourn: Motion was made by Commissioner Piehl, seconded by Commissioner Hughes to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:05 pm.
