04-18-2017 POLMHutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Curtis Hughes, and Chief Daniel Hatten.
Call the Meeting to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Todd Brandel at 5:00 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. A motion was made by Commissioner Hughes
to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Chairperson Brandel. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the March meeting. Motion was made by
Commissioner Hughes, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Hatten informed the Commission that Police Officer Matt Bergmann has completed his field training program
and is proceeding without issue at this time.
Chief Hatten informed the Commission that Hospital Security Officer Madisen Douvier has completed her field
training program and is proceeding without issue at this time.
Chief Hatten informed the Police Commission the final testing process for Part-time Hospital Security will be April 2151
with 4 candidates.
Chief Hatten requested authorization to begin the hiring process for Part-time Communication Specialist.
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to authorize Chief Hatten to begin the hiring process for the Part-time
Communication Specialist position. Motion was made by Chairperson Brandel, seconded by Commissioner Hughes
to begin the hiring process. Motion carried unanimously.
Union Update:
There were no additional updates at this time
Items from the Floor:
Chief Hatten informed the Commission the Body -cam program started on April 3, 2017, there are no significant
issues at this time.
Adjourn: Motion was made by Chairperson Brandel, seconded by Commissioner Hughes to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:21 pm.
Next meeting to be held on Monday May 16, 2016 at 5:00 pm.
