03-21-2017 POLMHutchinson Police Commission Minutes The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Monday March 21, 2017 at the Hutchinson Police Station Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Curtis Hughes, and Chief Daniel Hatten. Call the Meeting to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Todd Brandel at 5:00 p.m. Approval of Agenda: Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. A motion was made by Commissioner Hughes to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Chairperson Brandel. The motion carried unanimously. Approval of Minutes: Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the November 2016 meeting. Motion was made by Commissioner Hughes, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Staffing Issues: Chief Hatten informed the Commission that Police Officer Matt Bergmann is currently nearing the end of his field training program and is proceeding without issue at this time. Chief Hatten informed the Commission that Hospital Security Officer Madisen Douvier is currently in the field training program and is proceeding without issue at this time. Chief Hatten informed the Police Commission the testing process for Part-time Hospital Security had begun with 8 candidates. The written portion of the test process would begin later this week. Union Update: Chief Hatten informed the Commission the police officers and the City of Hutchinson had reached an agreement on the contract pending City Council approval. Items from the Floor: Chief Hatten informed the Commission the Body -cam program is progressing on schedule with the go -live date set for Monday April 3, 2017. Adjourn: Motion was made by Chairperson Brandel, seconded by Commissioner Hughes to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:11 pm.
