Parks, Recreation & Community Education Advisory Board
November 6, 2017
Members present were Don Demeyer, Marsha Anderson, Liz Marcus, Marlys Hoeft,
Chad Czmowski, Eric Westlund. Also present were Dolf Moon, and Jody Harms
The meeting was called to order by Don Demeyer at 5:15.
A motion was made by Don Demeyer to approve minutes from October 2 meeting and
was seconded by Marsha Anderson. The board unanimously agreed.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Dog Park
a. Ribbon cutting is Thursday, November 9, at 10:00 am
B. Ballfields
a. Backstop and fencing installation at Tartan and Riverside park may be
delayed until spring 2018 due to weather.
C. VFW Bathroom
a. Installation will begin in approximately two weeks. Compaction test is
delaying work. It needs to be at 95% to move forward.
D. Roberts Park Playground
a. New playground to be installed next year.
b. The project is funded through Parkland Dedication ($30,000).
NEW BUSINESS
A. MCEA Annual Report
a. Reviewed the 2016/2017 Community Education annual report.
Community Education data for 2016/2017 school year is gathered and
reported to the state for continued support for community education
programs.
B. Concession Options
a. Matt Jaunich, Dolf Moon, Mary Haugen and John McRaith discussed
and created rental options regarding concessions for outside
organization events.
C. Fall Program Numbers
a. Reviewed enrollment for fall classes.

There were no board member items.
