The renovated state capitol visit on June 13 with lunch at the Cherokee Tavern and a stop at the Abdallah Candy Factory also went well. The tour of the capitol was only 45 minutes long which made it difficult to cover so much st information. A second tour to the capitol will be going on August 1 and that trip has sold out also. Hand and Foot is a possibility and there is someone interested in teaching others how to play. “Four Words That Changed My Life” was presented by Dennis Bergquist. It was a good talk but did not have great attendance. V.Business A.Murder on the Crow- The Center’s first attempt at a murder mystery turned out very well. September did a great job of decorating and the reviews were very positive. The Center also posted a profit of over $1500. The board discussed future possibilities and came to the consensus that one a year would be a good way to go. There was some discussion about creating the next mystery on our own and working with all volunteers. B. Future Concert- The board discussed possibilities for future concerts. Several members felt that we’ve done enough Johnny Cash for now. Mayor Forcier said that he has a backer for a Patsy Cline event. The group would like to stay with the April date for a concert as it has worked out very well in the past. C. Mini-Golf Event- Curt suggested that we have a mini-golf activity at the Event Center during the winter months. The rest of the members thought that this was a very good idea that we should pursue in the coming months. D. Crowd Control Stanchions- September would like to purchase some crowd control stanchions to use for events like the Murder Mystery or a future concert. They would be useful any time you need to keep people in lines. The cost for six would be a little more than $200. Kay made a motion to make the purchase which was followed by a second from Judy. After a little more discussion, the board unanimously approved the purchase. E. Other- The monthly drawing for Fellowship Dinner tickets went to Rose Fonder. VI.
