07-11-2016 POLMHutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Monday July 11, 2016 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Jo Piehl, and Lt. Tom Gifferson
Call the Meeting to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Brandel at 5:06 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. A motion was made by Commissioner Piehl to
accept the agenda as written, seconded by Chairperson Brandel. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the June 2016 meeting. Motion was made
by Commissioner Piehl, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Lt Gifferson updated the Commission on probationary Officers Willers, Salazar, and Hemley each are progressing
without issue at this time.
Lt Gifferson informed the Commission that conditional officers of hire were given to Cody Sederlund and Christopher
Mann for the position of full-time Police Officer
Lt Gifferson informed the Commission that Travis Borstad was also hired as a Police Officer and he would transfer
over from full-time Hospital Security Officer to the Position of full-time Police Officer on July 11, 2016.
Lt Gifferson updated the Commission on Hospital Security Officer Jason Mons who is progressing without issue at
this time.
Union Update:
There are no Union issues at this time.

There were no issues at this time.
Adjourn: Motion was made by Commissioner Piehl, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:14 pm.
