06-14-2016 POLMHutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Monday June 14, 2016 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Curtis Hughes, and Chief Daniel Hatten.
Call the Meeting to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Brandel at 5:00 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. A motion was made by Commissioner Hughes
to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Commissioner Hughes. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the May 2016 meeting. Motion was made
by Commissioner Hughes, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Hatten informed the Commission that Officer Willers field training program is progressing without issue at this
time.
Chief Hatten informed the Commission that Officer Salazar has successfully completed the field training program, has
been assigned to the patrol unit, and progressing without issue at this time.
Chief Hatten informed the Commission that Officer Brad Hemling has begun his field training program and is
progressing without issue at this time.
Chief Hatten informed the Commission that Hospital Security Officer Jason Mons has completed the training program
without issue and has begun working shifts by himself.
Chief Hatten presented the Commission with the list of candidates who successfully completed the testing process
and requested the Commission certify the Police Officer Eligibility Roaster. Motion was made by Commissioner
Hughes, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to certify the Police Officer eligibility roster. Motion carried unanimously.
Union Update:
There are no Union issues at this time.

There were no issues at this time.
Adjourn: Motion was made by Chairperson Brandel, seconded by Commissioner Hughes to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:10 pm.
