Tours- Julie Jensen reported that the trip on February 14th to Orchestra Hall went very well. This tour included dining at Crystal's in Minnetonka and she heard many compliments on this establishment. On March 9th a group will travel to the Plymouth Playhouse for a revue featuring John Denver's music. This event is sold out. Upcoming trips include "Grease" at the St. Cloud Paramount Theater which still has nine openings, a Norwegian festival, an Old Log Theater production of "Million Dollar Quartet", a summer cruise on Gull Lake, a visit to Black Bear Lodge with a performance at Jasper Theater, a trip to the State Fair, and a mystery tour. The latest addition to the tour calendar is a December visit to the Basilica of St. Mary to hear a Lutheran choir concert. The new registration system for tours that allows each person to purchase a maximum of two tickets seems to be working well. B. Update on Programs- September reported that the movie for this month was "A Walk in the Woods" which turned out to be pretty good. "The Age of Adeline" was the bonus movie. For March the movie will be "The Intern" with "A Song for Ireland" as the bonus film. Tomorrow's Fellowship dinner has 35 people registered. Next month the meal will include beef stew in honor of St. Patrick's Day. The dinner fee was raised to $9 to cover costs and there was very little displeasure expressed about the change. Intergenerational mentoring is starting slow with six participants coming and going but they are enjoying the activity. The Center will have bingo every Friday now and Walgreens will be providing some of the callers. Bone Builders is still very popular but they could use a few more people to train as session leaders. The golf nets have been ordered. Table tennis is going well with up to twelve people there to play on occasion. We currently have three tables but one is not very portable. V. Business A. Election of Officers- The current officers of the advisory board were nominated to serve another year in their current positions. The current chairman is Don Schoeder, the vice -chair is Harriet Sturges, the secretary is John McRaith, and the treasurer is Warren Schuft. Curt made a motion seconded by Warren that we approve the nominations. The motion passed unanimously. B. St. Croix Hospice - Representatives of St. Croix Hospice would like to get involved at the Senior Center. The board felt that fifteen minutes of the March meeting should be reserved to hear from them. C. April Concert- The Roy Orbison and Elvis Pressley Tribute concert is scheduled for April 2"d. The tickets will be $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Thrivent will be helping to sponsor this event. Volunteers will be needed to make the concert a success. D. Other- Don reminded the other members to think about new programs for the Center. September told the group that "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune" are available for the Wii machine. The group also discussed the need for a computer for Julie to have for planning trips. A computer printer and where it should be located were also topics of discussion that will be revisited at a future meeting. VI.
