1. Approval of Minutes from January 21, 2015
Motion by Fraser, second by Hjerpe, to approve the minutes as presented. Motion
carried unanimously.
2. Financials (if available)
Financial information was not available at the time of the meeting.
3. 2015 Sales YTD update
Becky Kobow provided an update on bulk and bagged sales year to date. Kobow
mentioned that sales started a couple weeks earlier this year compared to last year
mainly due to the lack of snow cover and warmer spring weather. Kobow also
mentioned that sales with Cub Foods is a bit more aggressive than last year.
Production and shipment is 25%-30% of the season currently. All customer have
their initial shipments and inventory and then staff will be ready for re -orders in
early summer.
Lofdahl reminded staff that he would like research to be done on grinding of
shingles. Kosek noted he will look into this when the season slows down a bit.
Discussion was held regarding costs at the landfill and how other landfills have
lower costs, such as Meeker County. Kosek spoke about the facility being permitted
as a transfer station for waste. Discussion also led to the new single sort system
being implemented by McLeod County. This will be big for the City of Hutchinson.
4. Creekside Soils Facility Tour
Following a tour of the facility the meeting was adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
