Wine 120.23 -3 — Chief of Police Broderius was present to discuss the need for 60 new parking meters on a replacement basis. Discussion on the purchase of new meters. Alderman Kost made a motion to have specifications drawn for 60 new parking meters, bids to be taken in December. Alderman Hanson seconded the motion of Alderman Kost, and upon vote being taken, carried. A letter was read from the Faith Lutheran Church requesting a "No Parking" sign for the south side of the church on 4th Ave SE. Motion was made, seconded and carried to grant the request for a "No Parking" sign at the above address. Alderman Linder introduced Ordinance No. 276 for its third and final reading: ORDINANCE NO. 276 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A THROUGH STREET IN THE CITY OF HUTCHINSON AND PROVIDING PENALITIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF The City sixHmimksmx K Council of the City of Hutchinson ordains as follows: SECTION I. Beginning at the west end of College Avenue at its junction with North Main Street and thence extending Easterly through and along said College Avenue to its Junction with Hillcrest Road is hereby declared, established and made a through street. SECTION II. No vehicle shall enter into or upon the said street herein designated as a through street without first coming to a full stop before entering into or upon any portion of said designated through street. SECTION III. Any person driving or entering into or upon said through street with any vehicle without first having come to a full stop before entering the same, shall, upon conviction of such offense be fined not to exceed one hundred ($100.00) or imprisonment in the County Jail for not more than ninety (90) days. SECTION IV. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication Alderman Kost seconded the motion of Alderman Linder to introduce. Ordinance No. 276 for its third and final reading. Upon dol call, all members present voted in favor of Ordinance 276 and it was declared4on its third and final reading. Adopted by the City Council this lith day of October, 1965. Motion was made, seconded and carried to deny the following permit:to Walter Rannow - 745 Milwaukke Addition to garage to finding stakes to establish property lines and usage. A report from Engineer Wilson for ddditional street lights on south Main Street to Lynn Road was discussed. The report called for three new lights to extend the white way. Alderman Linder made a motion to install all lights as recommended. Alderman Hanson seconded the motion of Alderman Linder, and the vete was as follows: Alderman Linder "aye" Alderman Hanson "aye" Alderman Kost "nay" Alderman Johnson 'S19W" `?141- Mayor Fitzloff "nay" Mayor Fitzloff called for another motion. Alderman Kost made a motion to approve the recommendation for additional street lights, but eliminate the center light on the curve on South Main St. Alderman Johnson seconded the motion of Alderman Kost, and the vote was as follows: Alderman Linder "nay" Alderman Hanson "nay" Alderman Kost "aye" Alderman Johnson "aye" Mayor Fitzloff "aye" -5 - Motion carried. Discussion on the entrance approaches on Bluff St - Fred Sorenson (H. C. Christians building)and State Highway Department, and the Bowling Alley. Monday, October 18, 1965, in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Present were Charles Carlson, Floyd Hoel, Curt Schafer, Lloyd Torgrimson, Clinton Tracy, Harry Hanson and Engineer Roger Josephson. Absent was A. J. Thompson. Minutes of the regular meeting of September 20 and special meeting of October 8 were read and approved. APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE NO. 481 Farmers Elevator Assn. requested a variance in set backs on Building Permit Application No. 472, construc- tion of 5 bulk bins for meed storage at the elevator site, Blk 47. Present on behalf of Farmers Elevator was Harvey Piehl. Motion was made by Harry Hanson, seconded by Clinton Tracy, that the Commission recommends to the City Council that this application for variance be approved. Carried. APPLICATION FOR SPECIAL PERMIT NO. 464. Signs at McCarthy's Hamburger Shop, Lot 1, Block 24, N 1/2 City. Present was Harold McCoy. Motion was made by Lloyd Torgrimson, seconded by Harry Hanson, that the Commis- sion recommends to the City Council that this application for special permit be approved within the specifications of Ordinance No. 245. Carried. FROEMMING LAND SURVEY. Present were James Reid, Russlie Froemming, Richard Zavoral and Aaron Dressel. Mr. Zavoral reported that the Hassan Valley Town Board felt that Mr. Reid and Mr. Froemming should submit their proposed plats to the Town Board for action.
