December 27, 1993
Commissioners Cornell, Ward, Gilmer and Carls were present;
Commissioner Beatty was absent; also present were Mgr. Kadrmas
and Counsel Prochnow.
President Cornell called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
The minutes of November 29, 1993 regular meeting were reviewed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Gilmer, seconded by Commissioner
Carls to approve the minutes as written. Motion was unanimously
carried.
The November payables were discussed. A motion was made by
Commissioner Carls, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to accept the
November payables in the amount of $1,914,839.12 (detailed listing
in payables book). Motion was unanimously carried.
The 1993 year -to -date (thru November) financial and budget reports
were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Ward, seconded
by Commissioner Carls to accept the financial and budget reports.
Motion was unanimously carried.
The 1994 final budget was reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner
Ward, seconded by Commissioner Carls to approve the 1994 budget as
presented with exception to Commissioners salaries (401- 930 -0100)
and medical insurance (401- 925 -0100) accounts. Motion was unanimously
carried.
Manager's Report:
1. Counsel Prochnow updated the Commission on the McLeod Co- operative
service territory issue.
2. Update on unit #1 (new generating unit).
Old Business:
The proposed union contract (copy on file) which will be effective
January 1, 1994 thru December 31, 1995 was reviewed. After
discussion, Commissioner Ward recommended the union contract be
ratified. A motion was made by Commissioner Carls, seconded by
Commissioner Gilmer to ratify the proposed union contract and
attached wage exhibits between Hutchinson Utilities Commission
and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Motion was
unanimously carried.
President Cornell informed the Commissioners that Hutchinson
City Council tabled approving a pay rate increase for Utilities
Commissioners. The pay rate increase will be on the agenda at
the December 28, 1993 Hutchinson City Council meeting. A motion
was made by Commissioner Carls to rescind request for pay rate
increase, the motion was not carried for lack of second.
New Business: None
There being no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner
Carls, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to adjourn the meeting at
3:32 p.m. Motion was unanimously carried.
