06-28-1993 HUCMRegular Meeting June 28, 1993 Commissioners Lyke, Ward, Cornell and Gilmer were present; Commissioner Beatty was absent; also present were Mgr. Kadrmas and Counsel Prochnow. President Lyke called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. The minutes of May 24, 1993 regular meeting were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Ward to approve the minutes as written. Motion was unanimously carried. The minutes of June 8, 1993 special meeting were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to approve the minutes as written. Motion was unanimously carried. The May payables were discussed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Ward to accept the May payables in the amount of $1,709,562.14 (detailed listing in payables book). Motion was unanimously carried. The 1993 year -to -date (thru May) financial and budget reports were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to accept the financial and budget reports. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented recommendation on bids for City street lights (bid tabulation attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Ward to award the bid for City street lights to A & B Electric in the amount of $90,745. Motion was unanimously carried. Manager's Report: 1. Update on unit #1 (new generating unit). The LM6000 will be arriving in Hutchinson around July 4. 2. Presented recommendation on quote for unit #1 stator reblocking. After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to award the quote to Turgenaux Services, Inc. in the amount of $20,240. Motion was unanimously carried. 3. Discussed having a utility payment substation at Cash Wise where Hutchinson Utilities' customers could pay their utility bills. Counsel Prochnow will check to see if non - utility personnel can accept utility payments. rm Old Business: Counsel Prochnow updated the Commission on service territory issue. New Business: Counsel Prochnow informed the Commission that Hutchinson Utilities received a conciliation claim for $3,200 for water damage to rental property (landlord filed the claim). There being no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to adjourn the meeting at 2:35 p.m. Motion was unanimously carried.
