01-25-1993 HUCM(�OI Regular Meeting January 25, 1993 All Commissioners were present; also present were Mgr. Kadrmas and Counsel Prochnow. President Lyke called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. The minutes of December 28, 1992 regular meeting were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to approve the minutes as written. Motion was unanimously carried. The December payables were discussed. A motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to accept the December payables in the amount of $1,608,333.81 (detailed listing in payables book). Motion was unanimously carried. The 1992 year -to -date (thru December) financial and budget reports were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to accept the financial and budget reports. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented recommendation on bids for unit #8 steam turbine and generator major inspection (bid tabulation attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to award the bid for unit #8 steam turbine and generator major inspection to Lovegreen Turbine Services in the amount of $84,872. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented quotations for replacement of truck #12 (quotation tabulation sheet attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Gilmer, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to award the quote to R. L. Brookdale in the amount of $9,679. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented quotations for replacement of truck #15 (quotation tabulation sheet attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Gilmer, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to award the quote to Myron Wigen Motor Company in the amount of $13,558.61. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented a request for bids for truck #4 articulated crane. After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to advertise for bids, to open the bids on February 8, 1993 and to award the bid on February 22, 1993. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented a request for bids for power cable for feeder 21. After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Ward to advertise for bids, to open the bids on February 8, 1993 and to award the bid on February 22, 1993. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented a request for bids for furnishing and delivering a steam absorption chiller (unit #1). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to advertise for bids and to open the bids on February 18, 1993. Motion was unanimously carried. Manager's Report: 1. Update on unit #1 (new generating unit). 2. Update on Bell substation. 3. Presented recommendation on quotations (quotation tabulation sheet attached) for 25,000 feet of 1 /0 -15KV wire. After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to award the quotation for 1 /0 -15KV wire to Petersen - Wisdorf in the amount of $24,300. Motion was unanimously carried. 4. Discussed McLeod Co- operative Power service territories. 5. In regard to MMUA (Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association) dues, a motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to pay the MMUA dues for 1993. Motion was unanimously carried. 6. Presented letter from Minnkota Power Cooperative stating that class B members must designate a delegate for representation concerning activities of Minnkota including meetings to be held during the year 1993. President Lyke designated Mgr. Kadrmas as Hutchinson Utilities delegate to Minnkota Power Cooperative, Inc. for the year 1993. 7. Presented quotation from Dresser Rand for aftercooler replacement. A motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to approve the quotation from Dresser Rand in the amount of $13,368. Motion was unanimously carried.
