Cornell, Secretary Re: #91522 Unit #1 Dear Clarence: This letter is in reference to the bid letting held on August 11, 1992 for the foundations and site work. As you know, each schedule may be evaluated separately. The low bid on each schedule is: I Earthwork II Drainage III Structures 49,349.50 Jay Bros. 6,955.00 Jay Bros. 32,500.00 Rickert However, Jay Bros. requires 90 days to complete the work. This probably means completion in mid - December which is usually too late for earthwork construction. The job would then be completed in the spring of 1993. The second low bidder for schedules I and II is Erickson and Templin. Their bid for both schedules is $6,081.50 higher than Jay Bros. but they require only 30 days to complete the work. Even with some delays, the project should be completed in 1992. We therefore recommend award of Schedules I and II to Erickson and Templin and Schedule III to Rickert Excavating.
