01-28-1991 HUCMRegular Meeting January 28, 1991 Commissioners Lyke, Beatty and Cornell were present; Commissioners Daggett and Richards were absent; also present were Mgr. Kadrmas and Counsel Prochnow. Vice President Lyke called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. The minutes of December 17, 1990 regular meeting were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to accept the minutes as written. Motion was unanimously carried. The minutes of December 28, 1990 special meeting were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to accept the minutes as written. Motion was unanimously carried. The November and December payables for both entities were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to accept the electric payables for November and December in the amount of $3,411,622.04 and gas payables for November and December in the amount of $481,448.04 (detailed listing in payables book). Motion was unanimously carried. The 1990 year end financial and budgets reports were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to accept the financial and budget reports. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented recommendation on bids for replacement truck #3 truck chassis (bid tabulation attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to award the bid to Myron Wigen Motor Company in the amount of $22,778.32. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented recommendation on bids for replacement truck #3 digger derrick (bid tabulation attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to award the bid to Simon- Midwest,Inc. in the amount of $74,544. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented recommendation on bids for replacement truck #13 (bid tabulation attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to award the bid to Myron Wigen Motor Company in the amount of $16,599. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented recommendation on bids for boiler tubes for unit #8 (bid tabulation attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to award the bid to Chicago Tube & Iron Company of MN in the amount of $61,386. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented recommendation on bids for 15 KV cable for Shopko project (bid tabulation attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to award the bid to Petersen - Wisdorf, Inc. in the amount of $65,400. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented quotations for replacement truck #10 (quotation sheet attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to award the quotation to Plowman's Inc. in the amount of $13,296. Motion was unanimously carried. Manager's Report: 1. Regarding medical insurance, retirees can be covered under Hutch Utilities policy to age 70. Will present a new policy at the next meeting. 2. Regarding MAPP (Mid- Continent Area Power Pool), the computer will be installed on February 4, 1991 and employees will be trained on February 5 -7, 1991. 3. Regarding repurchase agreements with Marquette Bank Hutchinson, Counsel Prochnow informed the Commission Hutch Utilities does not own the notes and does not have FDIC guarantee on these notes. Mgr. Kadrmas was instructed to meet with Wendy Kruse and /or Jim Bullard of Marquette Bank Hutchinson. 4. Ivan Larson was welcomed to the meeting. Discussed purchase gas reserves (gas wells).
