11-26-1990 HUCM/3l Regular Meeting November 26, 1990 All Commissioners were present; also present were Mgr. Kadrmas and Counsel Prochnow. President Daggett called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. The minutes of October 29, 1990 regular meeting were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to accept the minutes as written. Motion was unanimously carried. The October payables for both entities were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Richards to accept the electric payables in the amount of $983,899.41 and gas payables in the amount of $280,673.47 (detailed listing in payables book). Motion was unanimously carried. The 1990 year -to -date (thru October) financial and budget reports were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to accept the financial and budget reports. Motion was unanimously carried. Hutchinson Utilities employees medical insurance was discussed. After discussion, a motion was made by Commisssioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Lyke to accept the self- insured medical insurance plan. Motion was unanimously carried. Final budget for 1991 was reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to approve the 1991 budget as presented. Motion was unanimously carried. Manager's Report: 1. The Bell substation will be built. Hutchinson Utilities will be the construction manager and purchase the material. United Power Association will design the plan and draw up the specifications. 2. Regarding the new Shopko (phase II), the gas main will have to be moved. The cost to move the main will be about $200,000. 3. Received letter of approval from MAPP (Mid- Continent Area Power Pool). 13 a, 4. Reminded the Commissioners of the noon luncheon meeting with McLeod Co -op Power on November 28. 5. Presented quotations for 1991 checking accounts: Citizens Bank & Trust Company 6.33 °0' interest Marquette Bank Hutchinson 5.25 °0' interest A motion was made by Commissioner Richards, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to award the quote for the 1991 checking account to Citizens Bank & Trust Company. Motion was unanimously carried. 6. Presented quotations for boiler and machinery insurance coverage for 1991. After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to award the quote to National Security Insurance Underwriters (Zurich American) in the amount of $38,487. Motion was unanimously carried. Old Business: None New Business: President Daggett appointed Commissioners Lyke and Daggett to meet with Mgr. Kadrmas to negotiate Mgr. Kadrmas' employment contract.
