02-26-1990 HUCMX09 Regular Meeting February 26, 1990 Commissioners Lyke, Beatty, Cornell and Richards were present, Commissioner Daggett was absent; also present were Mgr. Kadrmas and Counsel Prochnow. Vice President Lyke called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. The minutes of January 22, 1990 regular meeting were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Richards to accept the minutes as written. Motion was unanimously carried. The January payables for both entities were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Richards to accept the electric payables in the amount of $1,281,647.85 and gas payables in the amount of $539,021.25 (detailed listing in payables book). Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented recommendation on bids for 1990 trencher /plow combo (bid tabulation attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to award the bid to Trenchers Plus in the amount of $20,740.04. Motion was unanimously carried. Mgr. Kadrmas presented recommendation on bids for 1990 chasis cab (bid tabulation attached). After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Richards, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to award the bid to Plowman's Inc. in the amount of $12,697. Motion was unanimously carried. The 1989 year end financial and budget reports were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Richards to accept the financial and budget reports. Motion was unanimously carried. Manager's Report: 1. American Public Power Association's annual meeting will be held in Denver, Colorado, on June 11 -13, 1990. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to authorize the attendance of the Commissioners and general manager. Motion was unanimously carried. 2. Discussed delegate appointment to Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to designate Commissioner Daggett the authority to cast Hutchinson Utilities vote. Motion was unanimously carried. 3. Discussed Integrated Transmission Agreement maintenance (tree trimming from Blaine to Rush City). Trees will be trimmed by a Twin Cities contractor and supervised by United Power Association. The cost will be about $15,000. 4. Discussed purchasing borescope for unit #9 inspection. Wally Hombach is checking on the cost of a borescope. We will have each company bring its borescope to Hutch Utilities and do a demonstration. 5. Requested to revise safety glass policy. Requested to increase each catagory $15. A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to amend the safety glass policy by increasing each catagory by $15. Motion was unanimously carried.
