06-14-1988 HUCM1 1 1 Special Meeting June 14, 1988 All Commissioners were present; also present were Mgr. Hakel and Counsel Peterson. President Daggett called the meeting to order at 6:30 a.m. "Skip" Quade and Gary Blythe, representing the Chamber of Commerce, were welcomed to the meeting. Location for civic event sign was discussed. Carol Brown of Brown's Greenhouse expressed her feelings about the sign and replacing the spruce tree west of the power plant. After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Lyke, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to grant the City of Hutchinson use of the land west of the power plant for a civic event sign with the following stipulations: 1. grant lease or license to City of Hutchinson 2. arrive at suitable liability 3. care of grounds 4. expense of electricity would be City of Hutchinson's 5. sign would be made current weekly 6. maintained presentable at all times 7. sign would be erected with suitable planting of trees Vote was taken which showed: In favor of motion - Commissioner Cornell Commissioner Richards Opposed to motion - Commissioner Daggett Commissioner Beatty Commissioner Lyke Motion was not carried. Filling the position of general manager was discussed. Four people from within the Utility have applied. Names of four other individuals have been received. After discussion, it was decided to request resumes from individuals interested in the general manager position. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:55 a.m. ATTEST E.
