02-11-1988 HUCM[1 Special Meeting February 11, 1988 Commissioner Beatty, Commissioner Lyke and Commissioner Cornell were present, Commissioner Daggett and Commissioner Richards were absent; also present were Mgr. Hakel, Counsel Peterson, Ivan Larson, Mark Flaten of American Risk Management, Jane Hodgins, Hutchinson Leader staff writer and Sue Winter. Vice President Beatty called the meeting to order at 7:05 a.m. Mark Flaten, American Risk insurance consultant, informed the Commission the property (fire) insurance for generating plants 1 and 2 must be renewed by April 10, 1988. After discussion, the Commission decided Counsel Peterson should review Minnesota statutes to determine if Hutchinson Utilities must go out for bids and inform Mark Flaten. If we have to go out for bids, Mark Flaten and Counsel Peterson will write bid specifications. If we do not have to go out for bids, Mark Flaten and Mgr. Hakel will contact two insurance agents to quote on a complete package (boiler and machinery insurance and property insurance). "Butch" Wentworth presented his recommendation for conduit for construction of two 13.8 KVA feeders. Graybar Electric $43,180.12 Border States Electric 46,004.94 A motion was made by Commissioner Lyke, seconded by Commissioner Cornell to award the bid for conduit to be utilized in construction of two 13.8 KVA feeders to Graybar Electric in the amount of $43,180.12. Motion was unanimously carried.
