07-13-1982 HUCMr Special Meeting July 13, 1982 All Commissioners were present, also present were Mgr. Alexander, Ruth Hakel, Don Swanson of Associated Consultants, Bob Frisbee of Hydronamics Inc. and Counsel Peterson. The meeting was called to order by President Filk at 1:30 p.m. President Filk opened the meeting commenting on the purpose of the meeting relative to the City of St. Cloud and Hydronamics Inc. building a hydro generating unit. Bob Frisbee of Hydronamics Inc. presented a program whereby his firm would construct a hydro generating facility at an existing dam in St. Cloud, Minnesota. His proposal was to generate and selltotal production to the Hutchinson Utilities at a price of .036 per kilowatt. Discussion took place covering all phases of the project. An agreement to purchase electricity would be for ten (10) years. Mr. Frisbee departed after his presentation. Don Swanson then commented on the subject which had been presented. Again extensive discussion took place. The consensus of opinion of the Commission was favorable to the presentation. A motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Daggett instructing Don Swanson of Associated Consultants to contact Mayor Sam Houston of St. Cloud and Bob Frisbee of Hydronamics Inc. concerning finalizing an agreement proposal reflecting a lower kilowatt charge. A progress report would be presented on July 26, 1982 at the regular meeting. Motion was carried.
