04-28-1980 HUCMRegular Meeting April 28, 1980 All Commissioners were present, also present were Mgr. Alexander, Ruth Hakel, "Butch" Wentworth, Ivan Larson, and Dave Schmidt of Associated Consultants. The meeting was called to order at 2 :00 p.m. by President Quade. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 31, 1980 and the Special Meetings of April 11, 1980, April 17, 1980 and April 18, 1980 were presented. On a motion by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy the minutes of all meetings were accepted as presented in their printed form. The motion carried. Dave Schmidt of Associated Consultants presented a report on proposed methods of increasing interconnections between the Hutchinson Electrical Distribution System and United Power Association Project #78665. Mr. Schmidt explained the report in detail. Discussion took place with questions and answers on the subject. On a motion by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy Mr. Schmidt was instructed to proceed with costs and time estimates for Plan 2 of Project #78665 and that we should proceed with the project as soon as possible. The motion carried unanimously. Mgr. Alexander presented a letter from Mr. Don Swanson of Associated Consultants concerning a meeting on allocations of power from W.A.P.A. to be held in Sioux Falls, SD, on May 14, 1980. The Commissioners instructed Mgr. Alexander and Don Swanson to attend the meeting in the interest of Hutchinson Utilities. Mgr. Alexander presented drawings on a proposed office and lunch room at generating plant #1. The Commission instructed him to obtain cost figures. Mgr. Alexander presented an insurance program which had been presented and tabled on January 7, 1980 at a Regular Meeting. After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy to table the matter until staff salary review for 1981. On a motion by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy any member of the Commission or the Manager is authorized to attend the American Public Power Association meeting in Washington, D.C. on May 4 to 7, 1980.
