Alexander, Ruth Hakel, Counsel Peterson, Mayor Black and Ivan Larson. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by President Quade. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 8, 1979 were read and accepted as read. The minutes of the Special Meeting of May 25, 1979 were accepted as presented. Mgr. Alexander reported on the request for underground service at the new motel site. Estimates for this request run about $248,000.00. After meetings with the City and the investors, it was decided that a major underground service would not be necessary. It appears that the small amount of underground work could be held to less than $10,000.00. Mgr. Alexander discussed our need to join a Power Agency citing that the large suppliers, such as Manitoba Hydro, will not deal with an individual utility. The Commission recommended that Associated Consultants be commissioned to study and recommend a course for the Hutchinson Utilities to follow. Mgr. Alexander presented a letter from United Power Association concerning the forced outage of the Curtiss - Wright generating unit. Counsel Peterson and Mgr. Alexander were instructed to answer the correspondence. Mgr. Alexander reported on a call he had received from Mr. Green of Curtiss - Wright. It was proposed to set up a meeting at Hutchinson with Curtiss - Wright people in attendance who could resolve the problems at hand. The Commission proposed that Mr. Larry Zelle be contacted and instructed to give the Hutchinson Utilities a proposal if it becomes necessary to continue negotiations with Curtiss - Wright or to bring suit. Ivan Larson presented a proposed rate schedule that had been compiled by Ruth Hakel, Ivan Larson, Mgr. Alexander and Associated Consultants. After the presentation and discussion the Commission instructed them to finalize the schedule as soon as possible. Mgr. Alexander presented a letter from Mr. Tom ller who made application as an electrical engineer. He was instructed to set up an interview soon. On a motion by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy members of the Commission and the Manager were authorized to attend the American Public Power Association meeting in Seattle, Washington, June 17 thru June 20, 1979.
