01-11-1979 HUCMSpecial Meeting January 11, 1979 All Commissioners were present, also Mgr. Alexander and Don Swanson of Associated Consultants. The emergency meeting was held in the generating plant and called to order at 1 :30 p.m. by President Quade. Mgr. Alexander reported the following: The fire of the previous day in the switchgear building had probably ruined all of the contents and the roof, leaving the walls salvageable. That pieces of metal had been found in and around the Rolls Royce turbine, engine #9, making it inoperable. After discussion, the Commission directed Mgr. Alexander to proceed with restoring the damaged area with temporary measures until permanent repairs can be made. Concerning the #9 engine, the Commission instructed Mgr. Alexander to contact Curtiss - Wright in regard to warranty coverage and how quickly the unit could be repaired or restored.
