08-14-1978 HUCM?17 Special Meeting August 14, 1978 Commissioners Filk and Tracy were present; President Quade was absent, also present were Webb Exam, Ivan Larson, Bob Palmquist of Associated Consultants, Melvin E. Evans of Blesi -Evans Company and Patrick J. Lyden of Marley Cooling 'lower Company. The meeting was called to order by vice - President Filk at 2:00 p.m. The meeting was called to consider bids on a cooling tower. Bids were opened by Secretary Tracy and reviewed by Bob Palmquist. Blesi -Evans Company Minneapolis, MN Melvin E. Evans, representative The Marley Cooling Tower Company Minneapolis, MM Patrick J. Lyden, representative $86,65o.00 ;89,o80.00 Less $390.00 with 10 ft. stacks as per spec. After interviews with both representatives per their bids, discussion persued and a motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Filk to accept the bid from The Marley Cooling Tower Company in the amount of $89,080.00 less $390.00 to include 10 fto stacks as per spess. The motion was carried unanimously. Bid check returned. Discussion was held with Bob Palmquist concerning the start -up and the extended warranty on the Curtiss- Wright turbine. The Commission directed Mr. Palmquist to prepare a letter concerning the Utilities feeling on extended warranty and present it to the Commission for its acceptance. There being no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Tracy to adjourn the meeting at 3 :10 p.m. Clinton Tracy, Secretary ATTEST R. Filk, vice- President
