Regular Meeting
August 9, 1978
All Commissioners were present, also Mgr. Alexander and
Ruth Hakel.
The meeting was called to order by President Quade at
9:00 a,a.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of duly 10; 1978 were
read and approved as read.
Mgr. Alexander presented Estimate 03 for P & H Constructors,
Inc. in the amount of $5,472.55. A motion was made by
Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy-t® pay
Estimate #3 in the amount of $5i472.55 with a final balance
of $1,739.66 to be paid at such time that all work and
claims are final. The motion carried.
Mgr. Alexander presented Estimate #8 -9 for Harold K.-Scholz
Company in the amount of x10,655.75.. A notion was -made by
Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy to ,pay
Estimate #268 -9 in the amount of $10,655.75, to be paid at
such time that all work and claims are final. The notion
carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy to accept a quote from National Electric Coil for
$58,800 to rewind the armature on unit 07. This bid is
$300.00 over the Electric Machinery quote and was taken
because the work could be completed in 6 weeks instead of
14 weeks. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy to retain Westinghouse Electric to rewind 14 coils on the
armature of unit 04 in the amount of $28,976.00 with a limit of
$3,000.00 to cover room and board for the technician. The time
for the work to be performed is 6 weeks. The notion carried.
Mgr. Alexander discussed the need for storage of lubricating
oil and wire. He was instructed to obtain costs on a
building and locate a suitable site.
Mgr. Alexander reported scheduled work should be completed on
the Curtiss- Wright turbine by August 15, 1978.
Mayor Black and Engineer Priebe appeared concerning acquiring
a portion of the Ttility property for a railroad spur, which in
turn would release property that could be utilised to more
advantage for the City of Hutchinson.

After diem. sioU, a motion was made by Commissioner Filk,
seconded by Commissioner Tracy to allow the City of
Hutchinson to continue its plans as to
the use of Utility
property as proposed. Firm plans and specs.will be
presented by the City for formal acceptance by the
Utilities Commission. Motion carried unanimously.
