Regular Meeting
April 10, 1978
All Commissioners were present, also Mgr. Alexander.and
Ruth Hakel.
The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by President
Quade.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 13, 1978, were
read and approved as read.
The minutes of the Special Meeting of March 23, 1978, were
read and approved as.read.
The minutes of the Special Meeting of March 27, 1978, were
read. Concerning the minutes of the Special Meeting of.
March 27, 1978, Commissioner Bilk moved to strike the word
carried from the motion on an increase in contribution to
the City of Hutchinson. A discussion was held by the three
Commissioners, the motion received no second. Commissioner
Filk then requested the motion be withdrawn. The minutes
were approved as read.
The minutes of the Special Meeting of April 1, 1978, were
read and approved as read.
Mgr..Alexander reported on the progress of the loop line
stating that due to resistance to overhead lines in some
areas we would be installing underground. He also commented
on moisture "drift" from the cooling tower contaminating
paint on employee automobiles. Mgr. Alexander was instructed
to contact the tower company for suggestions on the problem.
A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy and unanimously carried to allow the Utilities Commissioners,
the Manager, and certain selected personnel to attend the
American Public Power Convention at Atlanta, Georgia, on
May 7 - 11, 1978, and the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association
to be held at Quadna Mountain Lodge on June 18 - 21, 1978.
Mgr. Alexander presented a change in the Utility service
concerning the over 400 amp hookups. A motion was made by
Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy and
unanimously carried to adopt the service hookup changes as
presented. Mgr. Alexander was instructed to present this
change to the City Council for their approval.
