07-11-1977 HUCMn Regular Meeting July 11, 1977 All Commissioners were present, also Mgr. Alexander, Ruth Hakel, and Counsel Roger Gilmer. The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by President Quade. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 6, 1977, were read and approved as read. Mgr. Alexander presented the following estimates for review and approval: A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy and carried to allow Paul Lemke & Son Estimate #10 (final) in the amount of $9,880.91. A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy and carried to allow Harold K. Scholz Company Estimate #7 in the amount of $4,335.00. A motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Filk and carried to allow Harold K. Scholz Company Estimate #8 in the amount of $10,655.75• A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy and carried to allow Curtiss- Wright Corporation Estimate #7 in the amount of $4,815.00, Estimate #8 in the amount of $16,156.80, and Estimate #9 in the amount of $145,792.45• Mgr. Alexander reported on a possible prospect for the gas warehouse. Mgr. Alexander reported on progress in reviewing our rate structure in the rural area. After discussion Mgr..Alexander was instructed to direct Associated Consultants to make a rate comparison survey with adjoining areas taken into consideration. Mgr. Alexander reported on a letter received from Mr. Henderson representing the Worthington Corporation where by they have offered to settle the lawsuit for $150,000.00 and assume responsibilities in settling with Allis Chalmers. Counsel Gilmer offered alternates on how to handle the situation. After discussion the Commission delegated Mgr. Alexander to call Mr. Henderson and present a counter offer to cover other additional expenses and with authority to settle for the amount stipulated in Worthington proposal. 13 After discussion concerning our I B M system a motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy and carried to purchase the system. Mgr. Alexander briefed the Commission on the oil tank repair - dust proofing as black topping the service road to the new turbine - buying fuel oil.
