Regular Meeting
February 14, 1977
All Commissioners were present, also Mgr. Alexander, Rath
Hakel, and Don Swanson of Associated Consultants.
The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by President
Quade.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 109 1977,
were read and approved as read.
The minutes of the Special Meeting of February 8, 19779
were read and approved as read.
Mgr. Alexander presented a run down on the United Minnesota
Municipal Power Agency. After discussion, it was the
consensus of opinion by the Commissioners not to become
a part of the Agency at this time.
Mgr. Alexander discussed a letter from the Postal Department
regarding reading meters by mail. Discussion ensued with
no action taken.
After discussion on Curtiss - Wright Estimate 05A, a motion
was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy and carried to pay Estimate #5A in the amount of
$304,595.10.
After discussion on repairing Unit #2 generator, a motion
was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy and carried to make the repair at a cost of
$23,778.00.
Mgr. Alexander presented a cost of $8,160.00 to make repairs
on Units 3 & 4. A motion was made by Commissioner Filk,
seconded by Commissioner Tracy and carried to make the repair as
presented.
Mgr. Alexander advised the Commission of the need for a
demistor on the general Electric trubine unit. A motion
was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner
Filk and carried to purchase the demistor at a cost of
$5,0.00 with our mechanics making the installation.
Mgr. Alexander presented an informational report drawn up
by "Butch" Wentworth concerning the Summer Work Load.

Don Swanson of Associated Consultants appeared and
presented a report on a Rate Comparision Study. A lengthy
discussion took place concerning rates - gas and electric
with interruptible gas being the most questionable. No
action was taken at this time.
