09-08-1953 HUCM(202) September 8, 1953. Monthly Meeting. The regular monthly meeting of the Light & Power Commission was held at R. I. Sheppardts office on September 8, 1953 at 7;30 p.m. All Commissioners were present; also Supt Young. The minutes of the last monthly meeting were read and approved as read. Due to the fact that Labor Day was Monday, September 7th, the regular meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, September 81 1953. Motion was made and seconded to install a new tank with a capacity of 1,000 gallons for the purpose of draining the jacket water from Unit #5 and #6 while engines are being; overhauled. Motion was made and seconded to purchase from Schneider Electrical Works equipment for a two way radio system. Units to be installed in two trucks and one care; also one in the police care, the cost of installation in the police care to be taken care of by the City of Hutchinson. Sheppard's office on October 51 1953 at 7=30 p-m. The minutes'of the last monthly meeting were read and approved as read. All Commissioners were present; also Supt. Young. The motion was made by Commissioner Thompson and seconded by Commissioner Dahl to sign a contract with Schneider Electrical Works to furnish and install all necessary equipment for the interconnection of power with the Rural Cooperative Power Asstn. and the Municipal Electric Plant. Motion was made and seconded to furnish the wire for the under - ground-service to the new Catholic School. A bid of $675.00 was submitted by the Pratt f s Express Company, Inc. for unloading and moving three transformers from a flatcar to the new substation location. A bid of $600.00 was submitted by Henry Lambert Trucking Company.
