Special Meeting.
A special meeting of the Light & Power Commission was held on
November 26, 1956 in the office of Dr. R. I. Sheppard.
All Commissioners were present, also Supt. Young, E. A. Pedersen,
Harold Scholz, William Esslik and Hugo Mahs.

Inasmuch as the Light Plant switchboard is considerably overloaded,
the Utilities Commission decided the situation should be corrected
as soon as possible. Bids were received to install larger switch -
gear for labor and material necessary for installation of same.
The bids from the General Electric Company of Minneapolis were
for $190,000 and $220,000 for materials necessary and the bid
from the E. A. Pedersen Company was for $116,630.00 with an
escalator clause.
Commissioner Thbihpson made amotion to accept the bid of E. A.
Pedersen Company. Commissioner Dahl seconded the motion.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.

Monthly Meeting
December 3, 1956.
The regular monthly meeting of the Light & Power Commission was
held on December 3, 1956 at 7;30 P. M. The meeting was held at
the office of Dr. R. I. Sheppard.
All Commissioners were present.
Motion was made by Commissioner Dahl and seconded by Commissioner
Thompson to issue a check to Rural Cooperative Power AssIn. (Elk
River) in the amount of $3,000.00 in full payment of all transmission
facilities from the substation to the city limit line.
Motion was made and seconded to increase the monthly wage of
Datlof Weseloh and Elmer White $10.00 per month. Present wage for both
now being $320.00 per month.

Commissioner R. W. Dahl introduced the following resolution
and moved its adoption.
Be it resolved by the Hutchinson Utilities Commission,
City of Hutchinson, that said commission purchase from Amanda
Popp and Grace Froemming, the following described tract of
land lying and being in the County of McLeod and State of
Minnesota described as follows to -wit;
Lots 3 and 10, and the West Half of Lot
Eleven (11)2 all in Block 130 Townsite
of Hutchinson, North Half, according to
the Inap or plat thereof on file and of
record in the office of the Register of
Deeds in and for said County and State*
for the sum of $7,000.00 to be paid as follows; not exceeding
thirty per cent during 1956 and balance thereof in 1957 after
title to said lands has been approved and Warranty Deed tendored.
Commission A. J. Thompson seconded the foregoing motion
and upon roll call, all members of the commission voted in
favor of the resolution. Whereupon, chairman, R. I. Sheppard
declared the resolution to be adopted.
A contract was given to Donavon Construction Company(f or labor
only) to string and tie in 4/0 and 2/0 wire for the distribution
feeder line (SE Circuit) at the plant to 4th ave. SE. The amount
of the original contract was for $700.00. However, due to an
error in shipment of wire which caused a delay in time, an
additional $55.76 was allowed the contractor for time lost.
Due to the fact that the present billing machine used in the
office has become old and worn out, a new machine has been
ordered. from Burroughs Adding Machine Company. Delivery date
to be six months. This new machine will enable the Municipal
Electric Plant to have post card billing.
