05-07-1956 HUCM54 (52) May 7, 1956 Monthly Meeting. The regular monthly meeting of the Light & Power Commission was held on May 7, 1956 at 7;30 P. M. The meeting was held at the office of Dr. R. I. Sheppard. All Commissioners were present, also Supt. Young. Minutes of the last monthly meeting and special ne eting were read and approved as read. Motion was made and seconded to issue a check to L. M. Marcum Company in the amount of $4,645.00. This amount representing; final payment on the engine contract, plus extras in the amount of $824.68. Motion was made and seconded to issue checks to E. A. Pedersen Company in payment of Estimate #2 and Estimate #3 on the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing line contract. Motion was made and seconded to sell the existing electric distribution system within Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing property limits to Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing for $7,653.57. This would include all poles, hardware, wire, transformers, and protective equipment. This does not include the power company instrument transformers and metering. On May 17, 18th and 20th, bids were received from Cliff Betker, Miller & Miller and Harry R. Hanson for removing certain sections of old sidewalk and replacing same. Harry R. Motion was made and seconded to increase the hourly wage of Gordon Fratzke ten cents. His new hourly rate will be effective as of June 1, 1956. Motion was made and seconded to advertise at the dater Carnival -- V25.00 toward the printing of the Water Carnival brochures. Yotion was made and seconded to sponsor with the Power Association the Yew Ulm Drill Corp.. P,eLeod Cooperative Motion was mde and seconded to issue a check in the amount of 925,000 to the Citizens Bank as part - payment on our w451000 note.
