The meeting was held at the office All Commissioners were present, also Supt. Young. Minutes of the last monthly meeting were read and approved as read. Motion was made and seconded to contribute to the General Fund of the City of Hutchinson a check in the amount of $30,000.00. Motion was made and seconded to issue a check to Pedersen Electric Company in the amount of $2,044.00 -- $187.55 on Nev: Engine Contract, $1,856.45 on Switchboard Ext. Contract. The following additions to the present Electrical Ordinance were sent to all electrical and building contractors, these to become effective April 1, 1956= Article No. 1. When an electrical contractor has completed the roughing -in wiring of any building, and before the wire is concealed, four copies of "Rough - In Inspection Notice and Certificate" must be signed by the City Electrical Inspector. One copy to be failed with the Municipal Electric Plant, second with the City Clerk, the third and fourth belonging to the electrical contractor and the building owner, to be left in the fuse box. When all electrical work has been completed, four copies of "Final Inspection Notice & Certificate" will have to be signed by the City Electrical Inspector. These copies to be distributed the same as the first certificates. When all wiring is completed, the City Electrical Inspector or Municipal Electric Plant will have on file two signed certificates for each job. Article No. 2. Any contractor using electrical equipment on a temporary service will be required to have a three -wire service using a three -wire polorized receptacle. The metal case of equipment must be grounded with a third wire. The temporary lead wire from the metering equip- ment must be three wire, rubber cord in good, safe condition, with a three -wire polorized cap at the meter end and a three -wire polorized receptacle at the take off point. The Municipal Electric Plant will furnish a cabinet containing one fuse and a three -wire polorized receptacle for 115 volts. This cabinet and receptacle will be properly grounded. There will be a connection charge of X5.00 for each temporary meter setting, this amount will include the inspection charge for the temporary service. The owner and building contractor will both be re- quired to sign an application for temporary service. The energy used on this meter will be billed to the contractor. The owner will be responsible for the bill if it is not paid by the contractor. 48 (46) Article No. 3. No B. X. type cable may be used in the City of Hutchinson, or any property served by the farm lines owned by the Municipal Electric Plant. Article No. 4. Basements that are one -half above ground level, or basements that have one or more completely exposed walls, may be wired with romex. If basement is sealed, romex may be used in floor joists; otherwise, the use of romex will be allowed three feet from floor joists to a disconnect. All other basements or damp places must be wired with barn wire. Article No. 5. All commercial wiring must ba done in a metallic race way in both old and new buildings . Article No. 6. All fuses must be of a non - tamperable type. Circuit breakers may also be used. Article No. 7. If entrance cable is used for entrance, the weather head, meutral, and the meter cabinet must be bonded to &ether and properly grounded either to the water pipes or with a 5/8 x 10, copperweld ground rod. If conduit is used, this must be treated in the same manner. Article No. 8. Electric dryers, washers, and other electrical equipment used in basements, or other damp places, must have grounds on metal cases. Water meters must be bonded with not smaller -than No. 6 copper wire. Water heaters will be wired with three - wires; the neutral, case and water pipe will be bonded together. Article No. 9.
