Monthly Nleeting
The regular monthly meeting of the Light & Power Commission
was held at Dr. R. I. Sheppard's office at 7;30 P. M.
All Commissioners were present and R. E. Youngv Supt., was
also present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Motion was made by Commissioner Dahl and seconded by Commissioner
Thompson that all present officers be re- elected. The vote on the
motion being unanimous, President Sheppard declared the following to be
the duly elected officers for the coming ,year;

Motion was made and unanimously carried that the following in-
creases in salaries be given effective as of October 1, 1946;

RESOLUTION Numbering resolutions from 1936 — 2006

"Whereas the McLeod Cooperative Power association did, on
February 1, 1946 request the release of certain areas of the McLeod
Cooperative Power Association distribution system, pursuant to the
amendment to contract dated February 13, 1940, and
Whereas Light & Power Commission of the City of Hutchinson did
on February 11, 1946 approve said request on condition that the
separation of Sections A and B (set forth in the request for release)
was effective as of November 1, 1946, and the obligation of the Light
R Power Commission of the City of Hutchinson to furnish,electric energy

to customers in Sections A and B terminated on the effective date,
November 1, 1946, and
!^ Wereas the contract dated February 13, 1940 remains in full
force and effect as to all electric energy required by McLeod Cooperative
Power Association for its distribution system, excepting as to Sections
A and B upon the effective date of separation, and
Whereas the Light & Power Commission of the City of Hutchinson
is informed and believes that McLeod Cooperative Power Association is
not prepared to serve Sections A and P from other sources of power on
November 1, 1946, and
Whereas Light & power Commissioner of the City of Hutchinson
believes that McLeod Cooperative Power Association and the customers
in Sections A, and B will desire electric energy in said Sections A
anti B on November 1, 1946 and for some time thereafter from Light
& Power Commission of the City of Hutchinson, and,
Whereas the Limit & Power Commission of the City of Hutchinson
is not now in a position reasonably to determine from and After
November 1, 1946 the demands of McLeod Cooperative Power Association
for electric energy in the distribution system of said association;
and that the output capacity of the plant of Light & Power Commission
of the City of Hutchinson is limited, and
Whereas the Light 8° Power Commission of the City of Hutchinson
desires to cooperate with said McLeod Cooperative Power Association to
do everything within reason and with reasonable business safety in
the conduct and operation of its own production and distribution
system without jeopardizing any rights existing under contracts now
in force, including the separation of Sections A and B and the
termination of all obligation to furnish electric energy to Sections
A and B on November 1, 1946,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED;
That notice be given to the Directors of McLeod Cooperative
Power Association that the Light & Power Commission of the City of
Hutchinson will entertain and consider a request by McLeod Cooperative
Power Association for an extension of the time limited for supplying
electric energy to Sections A and B; provided that such request shall state
that any extension of the effective date of separation, November 1,
1946, of Sections A and B by the Light & Power Commission of the City
.of Hutchinson shall not be a waiver of any of its rights under the
contract dated February 13, 1940, as amended January 19, 1946, and
shall not be a waiver of the termination of the obligation of Light
& Power Commission of the City of Hutchinson to furnish electric
energy to Section A and B on November 1, 1946; and provided further
that no right under the contract dated February 13, 1940 is in any
manner waived or modified by any approval that may be given by Light
& Power Commission of the City of HutchirB on to any request for an

extension of the time limited for supplying electric energy to
Sections A and B.
Member R. W. Dahl seconded the adoption of the foregoing
resolution and upon vote the resolution was unanimously adopted.
