06-08-1966 HUCM14. Special Meeting June 6, 1966. A special meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was held at the billing office of the Commission on June 6, 1966 at 4 :30 P. M. All Commissioners were present; also Supt. Young and Attorney D. 0. Comer.` Motion was made by Commissioner Q,uade and seconded by Commissioner Tracy to meet on June 8, 1966 with Pfeifer & Schultz and Associated Consultants (Don Swanson) at 5:00 P. M. A special Meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was held at the billing office at 5:00 f3. M. All Commissioners were present; also Supt. R. E. Young and Attorney D. 0. Comer. Upon motion duly made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Quade, and unanimously carried, it was decided that bids for the fire and extended coverage, automobile and comprehensive liability, and comprehensive coverage on motor vehicles, together with alternate bids for extra expense insurance, were to be called for at an approp- riate time in the future in'recognition of the variances in the bidding as pointed out by Harold Grams, all of which have been corrected, or are to be corrected, by the company to whom the insurance bid was awarded. Requests for bids were sent to numerous reputable electrical contract- ors for transformers and switchgear equipment to raise distribution to 13,800 volts, with these bids to be opened at the meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission at 5:00 P. M. on June 8, 1966 at the billing office. The several bids submitted were opened and the low bid was that of E. A. Pedersen Company, 1049 South Twentieth Street, Omahas Nebraska, 68108, in the amount of $Illp4OO.00. This being the low bid, the President and Secretary of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission are hereby authorized and directed to accept the bid of E. A. Pedersen 15 . Company and to enter into a Contract with said company for the construction as provided in the specifications and are to execute the Contract and other necessary documents. The foregoing resolution was moved by Utilities Commissioner Quade, seconded by Commisioner Clinton Tracy, and unanimously adopted. C O N T R A C T THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 8th day of June, 1966, by and between the Hutchinson Utilities Commission of the City of Hutchinson, Minnesota, as Party of the First Part, hereinafter called the Commission, and E. A. Pedersen Co., Inc., Warty of the Second Part, hereinafter called the Contractor. WITNESSETH, That the Contractor agrees to furnish and supply all labor, skill, tools, machinery, equipment, materials, and other work necessary to construct and to complete the Section Four Electrical Work improvements to the Light and Power Plant for the said City, all in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor; and in accordance with the proposal of the said Contractor, which plans and specifications and said proposal are hereto attached and made a part k,14 e of . In consideration of the doing of said work in a faithful and satisfactory manner, the Commission agrees to paJ the said Contractor in the sum of One Hundred Eleven Thousand Four Hundred and no /100 Dollars ($111,400.00), to be paid in cash out of the earnings of the Light and Power Plant, all as provided for in the plans and specifications. Scholz was also present and being sucessful bidder, dis- cussed his bid with the Commissioners. Associated Consultants and Pfeifer & Schultz both presented proposals for engineering services for expansion of plant facilities. The proposals were referred to Attorney Comer for study. The meeting was adjourned until June 13,1966, this being the date of the regular meeting. Yr.-Dahl, secrtary. ATTEST June 13, 1966 Regular Meeting. The regular meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was held on June 13th, 1966 at the Utilities Office. All Commissioners were present; also Supt. R. E. Young and Attorney D. 0. Comer. On motion of Commissioner Howard Quade, seconded by Commissioner Clinton Tracy, and unanimously adopted, it was decided that bids for all insurance coverages, except Workmen's Compensation, should be request- ed from the agents in Hutchinson, with such coverage to be set f orth in policies to be submitted with, and as bids, and with such coverage to be effective at the end of the fiscal year, March 31, 1967, at the ex- piration of the present policies. Motion was made by Commissioner Quade and seconded by Commissioner Tracy to sponser the St. Laurence Cathedral Band from St. Cloud for the Hutchinson Water Carnival. Motion was unanimously passed. Upon motion made by Commissioner Howard Quade, seconded by Commissioner Clinton Tracy and unanimously carried, the request of the City of Hutchinson to return the old cement intake at the North end of the dam across Crow River, to the City of Hutchinson, to be used for park pur- poses is granted. The attorney for the Ut ilt ies Commission shall be requested to inform the City of the transfer of this intake to the City.
