Special Meeting.
As Special Meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was held
at three o1clock P. M. on April 16, 1968 at the Billing Office.
All Commissioners were present.
The President informed the members that a request from the City
Council was received for a portion of the pledged amount for the
year 1968 -1969.
The request was discussed and Commissioner Tracy moved that
10,000.00 be contributed to the General Fund of the City of
Hutcl:,.inson and if the Municipal Electric Plant needed additional
funds, a transfer of money could be made from the Natural Gas
Division. Commissioner Filk seconded the motion. The motion
was unanimously carried.
There being no further business, motion was made by Commissioner
Filk and seconded by Commissioner Tracy to adjourn the meeting.
Motion was unanimously carried.

Regular Meeting.
The regular meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was held
at the Hutchinson Utilities Billing Office on the 15th day of May,
1968.
All Commissioners were present; also Supt. R. E. Young, W. E. Reyerson,
attorney for the Commission and David Schmidt of Associated Consultants.

The meeting was called to order by the', President and the minutes of
the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Commissioner Tracy moved that the notice for the taking of bids on a
Cab.& Chassis and a Rotating Hydraulic Derrick and Digger be published
in the Hutchinson Leader May 22, 1968 and May 29, 1968, and that said bids
be opened on Friday, May 31st at nine o'clock A. M. This motion was seconded
by Commissioner Filk and upon vote being taken all voted in favor of said
motion and no one voted in opposition thereto and said motion was declared
unanimously adopted.
Motion was made by Commissioner Filk and seconded by Commission Tracy to
contribute $20,000.00 to the General Fund of the City of Hutchinson.
Motion was unanimously carried.
Motion was made by Commissioner Filk and seconded by Commissioner Tracy
to invest any surplus funds in Federal Securities. Motion was unanimously
carried.
The President instructed the Secretary to open and tabulate the bids re-
ceived on Project 68273: Electrical Builders, Ine.,Valley City, N. D. bid
Item #3, complete construction and material -- 115,743.00, Allis Chalmers
by Burmeister Electric Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota, bid Item #1,
material only - $78,174.00, E. A. Pedersen Company, 1049 South 20th Street,
Omaha, Nebraska 68108, bid Item #3, complete construction and labor- -
$96,800.00- -Work to be completed within 300 calendar days.
After due consideration, Commissioner
Tracy
moved that
the bid of E. A.
Pedersen Company be accepted. Motion was seconded by
Commissioner Filk
and unanimously carried.

HUTCHINSON, HELD AT ITS PRINCIPAL OFFICE
IN THE CITY OF HUTCHINSON, 9 A. M. MAY 31,
19681 PURSUANT TO NOTICE.
The President, Howard Quade, called the meeting to order, and the
Secretary, R. E. Young, stated that members Clinton Tracy and H. W.
Filk were present and participating in the meeting; also present was
DeWayne Rubedor, line foreman, and W. E. Reyerson, attorney for the
Commission.
The hour of nine A. M. having arrived, ( the President stated it
seemed like the middle of the night), the President called the
meeting to order and instructed the secretary to open the bids on
the Rotating hydraulic derrick and digger. The Secretary stated
there were two sealed envelopes with bids, one from Northwest
Tel- e -Lect, 10001 Minnetonka Boulevard, Minneapolis, Minnesota, with
certified check f or $890.00 attached; two bids from Chas Olson & Sons,
Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota, with certified check for 900.00.

The Secretary further stated therewere three bids on truck; one from
Plowman's Inc., one from Frank Motor Company, and one from Moehring Motors.
At the hour of 9:15 A. M. Wigen Chevrolet appeared with a proposed bid,
but the bid envelope, which was sealed, was not received, it was marked
received after the hour for bidding had passed; and the Secretary was
instructed to return the bid, unopen6q,to Wigen Chevrolet, Hutchinson,
Minnesota.

The representative for Northwest Tel- e -Lect was heard, and he
emphasized that the body was custom built. After he was excused
Mr. John Sunness spoke on behalf of Chas. Olson & Sons, Inc . and
he stated that the body on the derrick and digger bid by his company
was custom built; and the Commission requested that Mr. DeWayne
Rubedor express his preference of the diggers bid; and it appeared
that Mr. Rubedor believed that the derrick and digger covered by
Bid No. 1, with a certain deduction of $175.00, and extras of $670.00
and $430.00, would best serve the Commission.
After discussing the matter in full and at length, H. W. Filk moved'
that Bid No. 1 of Chas. Olson & Sons, Inc., net amount of bid $180167.000
be accepted; which motion was seconded by Mr. Clinton Tracy, and upon
vote being taken, all members voted in favor and no member voted in
opposition, and the motion was declared unanimously adopted.
The bids as to the truck were as follows:
Moehring Motors, Hutchinson, Minnesota $4,790.00
Frank Motor Company, Hutchinson, Minnesota 4, 606.03
Plowman's, Inc., Hutchinson, Minnesota 4,521.44
Discussion was had as to the qualities of the trucks bid, and it
appeared that the Ford truck would best serve the needs of the
Commission; and upon motion duly made by Mr. Clinton Tracy, seconded
by Mr. H. W. Filk it was moved t o accept the bid of Plowman's, Inc .
in the amount of 4521.44; and upon vote being taken all members
voted in favor thereof and no member voted in opposition thereto, and
the motion was declared unanimously adopted.

The Secretary was instructed to return the certified checks of the
unsuccessful bidders.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the
meeting adjourned.
