05-12-1969 HUCMSpecial Meetin "g. April 21, 1969. A special meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was held at the Hutchinson Utilities Billing Office on the 21st day of April, 1969. All Commissioners were present. President Quade instructed the Secretary to open the proposals sub- mitted for engineering services on the purchase of an engine and erection of a building. (A specific amount,to represent total install- ation cost.) The following Resolution was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy and unanimously carried. The amounts provided under this plan shall be credited on the books of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission to an account entitled Reserve for Deferred Compensation, a separate account to be kept for each employee qualifying under the plan. Payments to a qualifying employee from the Reserve Account are to begin only upon the happening of any one of the four following events, namely: (1) termination of employement, (2) change from full time to part time status, (3) partial or total incapacitation, (4) death. Payments from the fund to the employees shall be made in monthly installments equal to 1 /60th of the balance accumulated at the time of maturity. In event of death of qualifying employee before payment to him of the full amount of his account, the remaining balance, principal and interest, shall be paid in lump sum to a beneficiary designated by him in writing; otherwise, to the representative of his estate. The employee t s right to the amounts credited to his account shall be non-forfeitable. An amount equal to the credit to the Reserve for Deferred Compensation shall be set aside in cash and aceoune�d for on the books of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission in a special fund to be designated as EMPLOYEES DEFERRED COMPENSATION FUND. Young, Manager of the Hutchins on Utilities Commission, has passed the normal retirement age of 65 ,years and is continuing in the employment of the Commission., BE IT RESOLVED, that the compensation payable to R. E. Young be devided into two parts, (1) to consist of cash semi - monthly, (2)$250.00 to be paid into the EMPLOYEES DEFERRED COMPENSATION FUND in accordance with the provisions of the plan. Motion arcs made by Commissioner Filk and seconded by Commissioner Tracy to enter into a contract with R. E. Young to increase his salary $250.00 to be placed in EMPLOYEES DEFERRED COMPENSATION FUND as of April 1, 1969. Motion was unanimously carried. Motion was made by Commissioner Filk and seconded by Commissioner Tracy to contribute 20, 000.00 to the General Fund of the City of Hutchinson. Motion was unanimously carried.
