Special Meeting.
October 23, 1970.
A Special Meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was held
on October 23, 1970.
All Commissioners were present.
Manager Young having presented to the Commission the problem
relative to water requirements in the new plant, and having set
forth the facts showing that an emergency exists., and the
Commission having considered all the facts presented and the
needs of the new plant for a water supply finds that an-emergency
exists.
Now, I, Member Tracy move that because of the existing emergency
the Commission contract with Frederickson's Inc. for the following:
Total lump sum. . .$28,500.00

Drilling of a 16 inch well approximately 445 feet deep.
Propose to furnish all equipment, material, and labor to
construct and develop a ground water supply, designed from
an
efficiency standpoint to produce 1500 G.P.M., according
to
drawing enclosed and specified materials as indicated
below.
1.
Drill 30 inch hole, set 28 feet of 24 inch surface
pipe, grouted to surface.
2.
Drill 22 inch hole to casing T.D.
3.
Furnish and set 16 inch 0. D., 3/a" wall, plain end
pipe., weight 62.58 lbs . per foot.
4.
Pressure grout 16 inch pipe from bottom to surface
with neat cement.
5.
Drill under 16 inch casing to screen T.D. and under
ream to 18 inches .
6.
Furnish and set 125 feet of 91 inch O.D. stainless
steel, Johnson screen with 40 feet of 9 inch stainless
steel riser pipe, extending up into casing.
7.
Furnish and install suitable pack material between
screen and 18 inch hale.
8.
Develop well with high pressure water jetting and
compressed air.
9.
Furnish and set slip lead packer between 9inch riser
pipe and casing.
10.
Furnish 1750 G.P.M. test pump, run 24 hour pumping test.
Total lump sum. . .$28,500.00

Member Filk seconded the foregoing motion and on vote being
taken all members voted in favor thereof and no member voted
in opposition thereto and said motion was unanimously adopted.
There being no further business, motion was made, seconded
and unanimously carried to adourn the meeting.
