March 25, 1971
A special meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was
held on March 25, 1971 at two o'clock P. M. at the Commission's
meeting room.
All Commissioners were present; also Steve Wacker and Orville
Kuiken.
At the hour of two o'clock P. M. the President instructed the
Secretary to open the bids which had been received for gas
pipe. The following is a tabulation of the bids submitted:
Grinnell Company $69,211.70
Central Supply Company 69447.90
A. Y. McDonald Mfg. Company 60341.00
Adams Supply Company 69545.70
A motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner
Filk and unanimously carried to accept the low bid belonging to
the Grinnell Company.
The President instructed the Secretary to return the Bid Bonds
and Certified Checks to the unsuccessful bidders.
Motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy and unanimously carried to lay ground work towards forming
a Natural Gas Division within the Minnesota Municipal Utilities.
Authorization was given for travel and meeting expenses
The 28th Annual Conference of the American Public Power
Association will be held May 1 thru May 6, 1971 in San Juan,
Puerto Rico. Motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded
by Commissioner Filk and unanimously carried authorizing $375.00
meeting expenses to the Secretary and any Commissioner desiring
to attend the conference, also $80.00 registration fee.
There being no further business, motion was made, seconded and
unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting.
