SPECIAL MEETING
April 25, 1972
A, special meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission
was held on April 25, 1972 at 2 :10 P. M. in the Hutchinson
Utilities meeting place.
All Commissioners were present; also Steve Wacker, Manager,
Orville Kuiken, Superintendent of the Natural Gas Division,
and B. W. Thompson and Merle Geving, representative of the
engineering firm of Pfeifer & Shultz, Inc.
A discussion was held relative to a peak shaving plant
for the Natural Gas Division of the Hutchinson Utilities.
A. proposal of not more than $12,000.00 was submitted
by Pfeifer & Shultz, Inc. for engineering services.
After due discussion in regard to hiring an engineering
firm, a motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded
by Commission Filk and unanimously carried to accept
the proposal offered by Pfeifer & Shultz.
Tentative bid date anytime prior to June 12, 1972.
Motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by
Commissioner Tracy and unanimously carried authorizing
Manager Wacker to contact the Minnesota Municipal
Utilities Association for the purpose of recognizing
R. E. Young at the summer meeting.
Motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by
Commissioner Tracy, and unanimously carried that a
check be sent to the Minnesota Department of Natural
Resources in the amount of $372.65 for damage incurred
from an oil spill at the Municipal Electric Plant.
