07-11-1973 HUCMI i 11 REGULAR MEETING June 11, 1973 A regular meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was held on June 11, 1973 in the Hutchinson Utilities meeting place at 2:00 P.M. All Commissioners were present; also Manager Steve Wacker, Counsel Roger Gilmer, and Line Foreman, Melvin Wentworth. The meeting was called to order by President Quade. The vehicle bids (two) were opened. Moehring Motors (1) 1973 MC TC10906, known as a suburban. $3,900.00 (as per specifications) Plowman's, Inc. (1) Model: F230 3/4 Ton Cab & Chassis with automatic transmission. (as per specifications) $2,930.00 There being no other bids and after due discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Com- missioner Tracy and unanimously carried to accept the two bids. Counsel Gilmer reported no progress on the Worthington - Allis- Chalmers Case. He has contacted both firms by letter with only a response by Allis Chalmers stating that they hold us responsible for the charges to their firm. Manager Wacker reported on the fuel outlook. No apparent problem until after January 1, 1974. Outlook after that not too discouraging for the first half of the;- year. Alternate types of fuel are being considered. Propane for the Peak- Shaving Plant appear to be in ample supply. Manager Wacker and Commissioner Filk attended a meeting on Friday, June 8, sponsored by United Power at Elk River. Many items discussed - no decision reached. 122 123 Minutes of May 7, 1973 meeting read and approved as read. Motion by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy, and unanimously carried to pay Energy Systems $5,688.08 as per a recommendation by Pfiefer and Shultz.
