09-09-1974 HUCMi Regular Meeting September 9, 1974 All Commissioners were present; also Manager Wacker and Don Swanson of Associated Consultants. Meeting was called to order by President Quade at two o'clock P.M. Minutes of the regular meeting of August 12, 1974 were read and approved as read. Minutes of the special meeting of August 26, 1974 were read and approved as read. Mr. Don Swanson presented his report on the Municipal Electric Utility. A further study will be required before a decision can be made by the Commission. Willis Miller appeared at the meeting concerning rates. No action was taken. Mr. Richard Peterson, Counsel for the Utilities appeared and presented a resolution (attached) to be acted upon by the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association. On a motion made by Commissioner Filk, - secounded by Commissioner Tracy and unanimously carried, the above mentioned resoultion was adopted by the Hutchinson Utitities Commission. Motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy and unanimously carried to allow an expenditure up to $3,000 to the firm of Anderson, Helgesn, Leiser and Tharsen for a feasibility study on Data Processing for the Utilities and for the other governmental bodies of the City of Hutchinson. Motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, secounded by Commissioner Filk and unanimously carried to send Melvin Wentworth to the American Public Power Association Utility Education Course, October 22, 23, and 24, 1974 at Columbus, Nebraska. Motion was made by Commissioner Filk, secounded by Commissioner Tracy and unanimously carried to sent Manager Wacker to an Advanced Management Seminar to be held October 23'- 25 1974 at Washington, D.C. After discussion of the Associated Consultant's study, a motion was made by Commissioner Filk, secounded by Commissioner Tracy and unanimously carried to increase generation capacity to meet consumer's demand in conformity with the recommendations set forth. The commission had been approached by Mr. Maceman Manager of the Vocational School as to renting the property. Wacker was instructed to see Mr. Maceman and discuss the matter.
