Quade, President Regular Meeting July 14, 1975 All Commissioners were present; also Mgr. Wacker, Don Swanson of Associated Consultants, Carleton Beh, Jr. of Carleton D. Beh Co., D. J. Black, Mayor of Hutchinson, and Counsel Gilmer. l President Quade called the meeting to order at 2 P.M. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 16, 1975, were read and approved as read. There was discussion on a letter from Cable Communications Systems, Inc., concerning the lowering of pole rental. D. J. Black expredsed his thought that the System should be encouraged to continue with the service. Mr. Beh presented information as a Fiscal Agent concerning a Bond Issue for future expansion. He suggested the Utilities come with a program on a maximum facility at which time he could advise the course of action. The fee schedule would be 1/2 of 1% for the first $500,000 in bonds, 1/4 of 1% for all bonds issued to $5,000,000 after which the fee would be 1/8 of 1 %. The motion was made by Filk, seconded by Tracy, carried, to retain the Carleton D. Beh, Co. as the Fiscal Agent for the Hutchinson Utilities. Don Swanson presented a study of the feasibility of furnishing steam to the 3M Company. (Letter attached) After discussion it was decided to wait until 3M presented their figures relative to their needs. Counsel Gilmer was instructed to check the City of Hutchinson Charter concerning the Utilities producing and selling steam. A motion was made by Filk, seconded by Tracy, carried, to con- tinue the contract with Cable T.V. as it stands. A letter to be sent them concerning the decision. A motion was made by Filk, seconded by Tracy, carried, to pay Krasen Plumbing and Heating in the amount of $3,471.55. A motion was made by Filk, seconded by Tracy, carried, to pay Oppenheimer, Wolff, Foster, Shepard and Donnelly in the amount of $1,901.26, and Peterson and Gilmer $55.14. A motion was made by Tracy, seconded by Filk, carried, that Thode Landscaping be awarded low bid for the Services Bldg. area. A Special Meeting was set for July 25, at 2 P.M. The Regular Meeting in August was set for the 18th at 2 P.M. A motion was made by Filk, seconded by Tracy, carried, that salaries of certain employees be adjusted effective July 1, 1975, as recommended. P. Quade, President Special Meeting July 25, 1975 All Commissioners were present; also Mgr. Wacker, Ivan Larson, and Don Schimp of the Utilities; also Bob Palmquist and Dave Schmidt of Associated Consultants. The meeting was called to order at 2 p.m. by President Quade. Bob Palmquist of Associated Consultants presented preliminary specifications for Furnishing and Erecting a Gas Turbine Generat- ing Unit and Auxiliary Equipment - Project #75500 - Year 1975 - for the Hutchinson Utilities Commission. A motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Filk, and carried, to set the Bid Opening for 3 p.m. Sept. 8, 1975. A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy, and carried, to petition the City Council to vacate Superior Street from 4th Avenue SE to its northern end. A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy, and carried, to rent the former Utilities Garage on Hwy. 7 to the Crow River Vocational Center as per agreement attached.
