October 6, 1941 - Monthly Meeting
The regular monthly meeting of the. Light _ &. Power Commission
was held at 5 P.M. at the plant office.
All members were present. R. W. Strohmeier was also present.
Minutes of the regular meeting held Septl, 1941 and the
Special Meeting held Sept. 17, 1941, were read and approved as read.
The following approved additions to the contract of the
Carlstrom Construction Co. were presented by the Buell & Winter
Engineering, Companyl
Addition No. X;
'Construct one manhole at the elbow of the drain tile from the
new raw water intake. This manhole be of sufficient size to
admit a man for the purpose of cleaning tile. Construct same
of concrete of .mix as stated in general specifications, and
construct 4 inch concrete cover for same and imbed rock in
cover so as to harmonise with other concrete work in River Park.
This manhole to be constructed as directed by the Engineer. For
this work you -will be allowed the sum of 020.00 as per agreement.
Addition No. XI:
epla —ce approximately 60 feet of curbing along Highway No. 7'
(Minnesota) at the north side of the new plant addition. The
concrete for thin curbing to be of the same quality and type
as that specified by the Minnesota Highway Department, and said
curbing to be of the same design as that adjoining. Curbing
when in place must meet the inspection of the Minnesota State
Highway Department. For this addition you will be allowed $70.00
Addition No. XII
Repair fla-sEings and count er-f lashings on present plant and mop
one coat of hot asphalt on present plant roof. Check and repair
any minor defects found in roof or parapet. For this addition you
will be allowed in the amount of $69.00
Addition No.'XIII:
Furnish and nst l two sidewalk doors approximately 21 x 71
to be constructed as follows= Form frame of 5" steel channels
welded and mitered with 3/4" channel welded and fixed to the
5" channel for the purpose of supporting 1/4" thick checkered
steel cover plate. Construct side walls and manholes from stor-
age tanks to bottom of sidewalk of common brick to be laid up with
Portland eemext. mortar. For this addition you will be allowed the
amount of $84.00.
Furnish axed install three 4" standard_I.beams for the support of
the day fuel tanks, in the day fuel tank ,room. For this addition
you will be. allowed in the amount of $18.00
Moved, seconded and carried that effective October 1, 1941,
Ben D. Zprabek be paid $20.00 per month for the use of his shop`
and equipment in accordance with plant requirements.
Moved, spcoud:ed and carried that from and after Oct. '1, 1941
operators''wbrking'the 12 midnight to 8'AM shift be paid 50 cents
additional for 2ch such shift worked, whoever such operator may be
from time;_ to takme.

Moved, seconded and carried that Felix _W• Esping be paid
at the rate of half time in lieu of . taking. his. two weeks vacation.
The resignation of Otto n. Homburg., effective Sept. 15, 1941,
was accepted by the Commission.
