03-03-1941 HUCM1 D 1 147 March 3, 1941 Monthly Meeting The regular monthly meeting of the Light & Power Commission was held at the Light Plant office at 5 :00 P.M. The minutes of the meetings of February 31 1941 and February 15, 1941 and February 24, 1941 were read and approved. Commissioner Sheppard introduced the following Res- olution and moved its adoption& RESOLUTION o c ; > BF. IT RESOLVED, by the Light and Power Commission of the m a-m O City of Hutchinson, IERinnesota: CD CD That all neon tubes, mercury vapor tubes, and other 'a @ E N gaseous tube lamps fluorescent lamps, or lighting devices I o o N having a low power factor, operated by and with electrical O — energy furnished by said Light and Power Commission shall m o be equipped with corrective equipment which will maintain o in °o the power factor of such device, or group of such devices ;L o connected as a unit, at not less than ninety percent. ° Q That when any of such devices are used without said corr - 0 ective equipment the city will assess a charge of $1.00 w m per month per KVA of uncorrected gaseous tube lighting to rn compensate for the difference between serving fully corr- ected equipment and uncorrected equipment of like size C) and character, such charge to be applied against all un- o corrected installations made after April 1, 1941, and to all existing installations when the same are reconstructed, materially altered or moved to a new location. That the interpretation of the charge of $1.00 per month per KVA of uncorrected gaseous tube lighting in the following specific cases shall be: 1jUORESCE1%1T TUBES Twenty cents per month per 100 watts of total tube rating. NEON TYPE TUBING, MERCURY VAPOR TUBES AND SIMILAR GASEOUS TU13ES $1.00 per month per KVA of rated gaseous tube trans- former capacity. That signs in use prior to April 1, 1941 may be moved and rehung without correction provided that writterhonsent of the Light and Power Commission be first obtained. That this resolution be in force from and after the lst day of April, 1941. Commissioner Dahl seconded the motion. Upon roll call all Commissioners voted aye, whereupon President Sheppard declared the resolution duly adopted. 148 Motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried. that Gilbert Jenike be employed at a salary of $60.00 per month, effective as of March 179 1941.
