Consideration of option agreement for land acquisition for industrial park expansion Discussion took place regarding the value of getting an option on the Stritesky property when in reality the land we really want is the Hackbarth property. Tim Ulrich asked Council Members Jim Haugen and Duane Hoversten to comment on the option agreement. Duane feels that an option agreement locks us into the Stritesky property. It should not be used as a negotiating tool with Hackbarth. Discussion also took place regarding acquiring the Hackbarth property via condemnation. This would enable the EDA to obtain the property at a fair price. This has never been done before in Hutchinson, however, this is a good opportunity since the land would be acquired for a public purpose, to expand the industrial park.
