6. Update on post office relocation project
• Meeting with Postal Service officials was held on June 16.
• Staff presented four options for Blocks 6 and 7 in downtown Hutchinson (this is not public
information as of yet).
• Postal Service has located three potential sites outside of the downtown area: Citizens Bank
south, land south of Target between Airport Road and Edmonton Ave. and possibly leasing
space in the old Cub Foods building.
• Postal Service will have architect prepare a site plan for Blocks 6 and 7
• Postal Service will post two or three preferred sites for public comment sometime within the
next two months. No public hearing will be held.
7. Update on the revision of the Downtown Loan Fund
• Review new programs and guidelines
• Review Finance Team recommendations
• Next steps
8. Update on Hillyard Project
9. Business Subsidy Policy
• New legislative requirement for all agencies that grant business subsidies in the form of
loans, land write -down, waiver of utility hook -up charges, etc...
• Before any new business subsidies can be granted, the HCDC needs a policy.
• Review and recommend for approval by City Council
10. Prospects
• Entronix (see accompanying material) — Site visit on June 29
• Control Products, Inc. — collecting data on potential expansion sites
11. Latest developments
• Menards — Have not closed on land east of County Fair Marketplace nor have they submitted
a final plat.
