07-25-2012 POLMHutchinson Police Commission Minutes The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at the Hutchinson Police Station. Present at the meeting were Chairperson Verne Meyer, Commissioner Julie Jensen, Commissioner Curtis Hughes, and Chief Daniel Hatten. Call the Meeting to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Meyer at 5:26 p.m. Approval of Agenda: Chairperson Meyer asked if there were any changes to the agenda. A motion was made by Commissioner Jensen to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Commissioner Hughes. The motion carried unanimously. Approval of Minutes: Chairperson Meyer asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the June meeting. Motion was made by Commissioner Hughes, seconded by Commissioner Jensen, to approve the minutes from the June meeting with one correction where Commissioner Hughes was identified as Chairperson Hughes. Motion carried unanimously. Chairperson Meyer asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the July 17th meeting. Motion was made by Commissioner Jensen, seconded by Commissioner Hughes, to approve the minutes from the July 17th meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Records Specialist Hiring Process: Chief Hatten asked the Commission to certify the eligibility list for the Records Specialist position. Motion was made by Commissioner Jensen, seconded by Commissioner Hughes, to certify the Records Specialist eligibility list. Motion carried unanimously. Staffing Issues: Chief Hatten advised the Commission that the field training of Officer Tyson Rainey was progressing without issue or concern at this time. Chief Hatten advised the Commission that the Communication Specialist Candidate Gina Ross first day of hire will be Monday August 30, 2012. Items from the Floor: Chief Hatten updated the Commission on the BCA investigation surrounding the Minnesota State PatrolÓs Drug Recognition Program. He stated the investigation had been completed by the BCA and the Hennepin County AttorneyÓs Office was currently reviewing the case. With there being no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Commissioner Hughes, seconded by Chairperson Meyer, to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried unanimously.
