Summary of 2005 Projects
Mark Schnobrich submitted a handout showing the statistics of the 2005 year which showed that Diseased tree removal increased 3 time
From 2004 to 2005 with a total of 320 trees. This total included an increased loss of 176 elms from 2004 . 335 trees were planted in 201

Mark Schnobrich told the board that great strides were being made in finishing up the non-native removals and it appeared
that that portion of the Oak Savannah Restoration would be complete before spring. The next step will be to utilize the
DNR Grant for 2005-2007 to reseed all the areas lacking prairie grasses and to install a new perimeter trail along with the
planting of oaks and natives shrubs.

Discussion: Alternative Landscaping Request
The Board reviewed a request from to install an alternative landscape on his property located at 1271 Denver St
SW. He stated his property is umnaintainable as he cannot reach the back portion of his lot due to a rentention pond. He is
requesting that prairie grasses be installed so as to help with a natural landscape and make it more of a periodic
maintenance issue as opposed to a weekly mowing.
Conclusions: After discussion and review of Mr.Rutowski' s application it was found to be complete and the board
unanimously apporoved the landscape. They will make a recommendation to the Planning commission to approve the
alternative plant materilas
