Tree Board Minutes

ARBOR DAY 2002
The board discussed at length the plans for Arbor Day and
came up with the following ideas:
A Big Tree search contest will be started to find the
largest Elm and Cottonwood in Hutchinson.
A presentation will be made in at the schools and at the
Music in the Park program in June.
The 1 ih of May the presentation at the schools will take
place.
A picture and a plaque will be presented to the winner
along with a gift certificate to the Dairy Queen for the
winner & their family.

MnDOT ROADSIDE ENHANCEMENT PLANTING
Schnobrich reported that he was about to receive an
application for a fall 2002 planting of highway right of way.
This will coincide with better timing than a spring planting for
this year. The DOT also indicated that they would prefer to
have fall plantings for these projects.
Tree Board members were invited to attend the Year End
Report Presentation of Parks / Forestry on the 7th of February.
With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:PM.
The next meeting will be February 4th, 2002 at the Rose
Jergens home at 434 Kay Street.
